Albion is a quality heritage saddle brand, and this saddle shows it. This Albion SLK High Head Wide 17.5" dressage saddle is about 20 years old and has the cosmetic wear to prove it. However, the panels were recently completely reflocked and tree checked for soundness and alignment, and it will ship with brand new billets. 

This would be a perfect saddle for the dressage rider on a budget, a young or developing horse, or a trail rider who prefers the security of a good dressage saddle.
 
Fit: Albion saddles tend to be a very forgiving fit. The High Head model is meant to be a close-contact feel while still being accommodating for higher withers and also has a bit of a cutback. This is a true wide saddle, and has a wide (4-fingers) channel for spinal clearance. 
 
Feel: The deep seat, high head, and integrated block on this saddle create a very secure feel. It will put you right in the sweet spot. Some riders dislike the high head model for posting trot.
 
Condition: Has the cosmetic blemishes you would expect on a 20-year old saddle, shown in the photos to the best of our ability.
 
  • Some pitting on the skirt
  • some rubbing on the flaps
  • some stretching and surface cracking on the seat
  • rubs and bumps on pommel and cantle
  • missing stitching on the underskirt, but this does not affect safety or function of the saddle and is not seen
  • panel flocking is soft and even
  • will ship with brand new billets
 
Accessories: Ships with generic saddle cover, used leathers, and peacock irons.

    Shipping & Trial Policy

    Every saddle comes with a 5 day trial. Trial begins the day the saddle is delivered (based on shipment tracking number). Trial contract is emailed to buyer before shipping and a copy included in saddle box.

    If you decide to return the saddle, you must follow the contract instructions to initiate a return. Elysian Saddlery LLC will send you a return shipping label. Saddle must be shipped within three (3) business days of receiving the shipping label.

    On the sixth day, or if the return is not shipped in a timely manner, the saddle becomes the property of the customer and no returns for any reason will be accepted. There are no exceptions made, unless made prior to or during the trial in writing (email or text message). A return fee of $100 (which includes full insurance and restocking fee) will be deducted from your refund. 

    Saddle will be inspected within two (2) business days of return arrival. Refund will be issued when saddle is received in same condition as noted below, including all accessories. Please note that depending on payment method used, refunds can take up to 5-10 business days to process. This is beyond my control. Most refunds take only a few days.
